| | Bathory - Man Of Iron | ] | Hmm was I the only one emotionally moved by the press conferance given by the two Muslim brothers who we're arrested over the ill informed raid over a 'chemical bomb.'
It seems like it's becoming a choking cord to shave your head and wear a beard as many of our Muslim brothers do. It's even worse when these two lads could sue for a six figure amount but have said they just want all those involved to be brought to justice, how honourable of them not to take the money! Good Lads, my thoughts are with you and your family as I have many a Muslim friend who are afraid to be who they are in these times. |

Was watching Question Time the other day... talking about David C. (I believe) rant about Radio 1 playing hip hop which promoted violence and crime. So from murders being blamed on metal/rock to crime being blamed on Hip Hop, bloody idiots, it made me sick when they applauded the guest speaker who said it needs to be stopped and banned whereas the black speaker couldn't get his point of 'you have to understand how they grew up' out before he was shushed and booed.
What the hell do you want?! The kids to rap about having it easy and living it large in the council estates/ghettoes? .. ffs as K'naan said, "rap is the poor man's weapon" and yes there are alot of idiots within the music - 50 Cent anyone? - but even he's been shot like 7 times and had to sell crack to make some money.
Please if your going to reply with the stupidity of 'oh but all rap goes is ho' this and im gonna bust a cap in yer ass' then it's just as bad as people saying Slipknot represent death metal. You only see the commercial acts of hip hop and judge it by that but when someone does it towards music you like, out comes the retaliation of 'oh but that's just the sell out, fashion music'
I'd love to take all the MPs in the House of Lords and shove them in Somalia, Compton, heck even Sparkhill (where yet another youth got stabbed to death the other day!) for a month, see what sort of things they write about then |

| | Sangra Vibes - Naal Nachna (translate: Dance Together) | ] | Today is a day of joy, happiness and cheer out excitement!! It's been 307 years since the birth of Sikhism!(granted if your not a fan of religion, but then this is still a special day innit)
Vaisakhi Story told by Indarjit Singh OBE, director of the Network of Sikh Organisations
The creation of the Khalsa was the culmination of a process of social and spiritual uplift begun two centuries earlier by Guru Nanak - the founder of Sikhism born in 1469.
Central to Guru Nanak's teaching was a belief in one God: the supreme creator who is beyond the limited human frame of birth, death, form or gender. Guru Nanak taught the equality of all human beings, regardless of gender, birth or creed. He laid particular stress on the need for social responsibility and an active concern for others, particularly the oppressed. In marked contrast to the bigotry of the times, Guru Nanak taught that no one religion has a monopoly of truth and, as different paths to the same one God, all should be respected. He taught the Sikhs a higher view of tolerance involving the readiness to give one's life for another's beliefs.
Origins in martyrdom
The story of the Khalsa begins with the martyrdom in Delhi of Guru Teg Bahadur, the 9th Guru of the Sikhs.
The Guru, who disagreed with many aspects of Hindu teachings, was publicly beheaded by the Mughal rulers for trying to protect the Hindu community's right to freedom of worship. The Mughal emperor then challenged the Sikhs, who at the time could not be distinguished from other Indians, to claim their master's body. But in the event no one came forward. The Guru's young son Gobind now became Guru, and, as he grew into manhood, he constantly stressed that Sikhs should always be ready to stand up for their beliefs, however difficult the circumstances.
Then he decided to put the community to the test.
The beloved five
It was the spring festival of Vaisakhi 1699 and everyone was out in the open, celebrating the gathering of the winter harvest. Guru Gobind Singh, sword in hand, emerged from a tent and asked that anyone willing to give his life for his faith should come forward. A young Sikh accompanied the Guru into a tent. To everyone's dismay the Guru reappeared alone, his sword covered with blood, and asked for a second volunteer. A second Sikh stepped forward and again the Guru emerged alone, his sword again apparently covered in blood. In the same way a third, fourth and fifth volunteer accompanied the Guru into the tent.
The crowd became alarmed. Many believed that the Guru had killed the five Sikhs, but then to everyone's joy, he came out of the tent again, this time followed by all five Sikhs who were clearly alive and well and dressed in turbans and other symbols that have since become symbols of Sikh identity.
He called the five Sikhs the Panj Piare - the beloved five.
Then the Guru put water in a bowl for sprinkling over the five in a simple initiation ceremony. He said prayers as he stirred the water with a short steel sword; symbolising the need for strength. The Guru's wife, Mata Sundri, then came forward and placed some sugar crystals into the holy water or amrit as a reminder that strength must always be balanced by sweetness of temperament. After completing his prayers, the Guru then sprinkled the amrit over the five.
Symbolic dress
He declared them to be the first members of a new community of equals, to be called the Khalsa. These 'saint soldiers' were to be dedicated to the service of others and the pursuit of justice for all people of all faiths
The Panj Piare were asked to wear five distinctive symbols of their new identity:
* Uncut hair to denote saintliness * A small comb in the hair - a reminder of the importance of cleanliness * A kara or steel bracelet as a reminder of a link to God and Godly ideals * A sword for self-defence and protection of the weak, and fifthly * A khacha or (short) trousers , a more appropriate garment for a fit and active life than the cumbersome dhoti, commmon in India
n a move to end social divisions the five dropped their surnames - then linked to caste or occupation - and took the common name 'Singh', literally 'lion', a reminder of the need for courage. At the same time, the Guru gave Sikh women the name or title 'Kaur', or 'princess' to emphasise dignity and complete equality.
Inspiration for the future
The Guru then knelt before the five and in a remarkable gesture of humility asked them to initiate him. Thus the Khalsa became a community in which master and disciple were equal.
The Guru now knew that Sikhs were prepared to stand up and be counted for their beliefs, whatever the challenge. The infant Sikh community had proved its courage and he was confident that it could now flourish without the need for further living Gurus. Before he was killed in 1708, Guru Gobind was to vest the authority of the Gurus in the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib.
The story of the creation of the Khalsa is, appropriately for the new millennium, a story of new beginnings and high ideals that can inspire both Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike in the years ahead.

IRIE!! Well finally waking up from all the sleep catching up to me ...bloody dissertation! haha least it's over with now. Off for easter now so finally can carry on practising my dj mixes and making dub tracks.
Went out friday , fooooooooooookin hell no one told me of such a place! HAha looks like I've found a decent, clean, good music and great people pub..will be returning there..with a phat ganja spliff (oh yes, you could toke all night.) Got too many people trying to talk about my dreads + talk about my t-shirt (junglist movement one with some pretty powerful lyrics) but way past the material plane of existance and in a world of my own.
Good news, I've been approached to do dj bookings up and down the country many of which are with bands I know, so basically I'll be on for roughly 20mins each time between bands (whilst they set up) and keep the crowd goin and beats droppin - yeah that means I've gotta mic spit (unless I find someone else to do it) should be fun though!
Peace |

" Is not a lion allowed to shed it's mane and regrow? Is not the snake constantly changing? Can a man not find salvation? Or are we always to condemn those who did wrong in the past even if they had chosen a path of peace?"

Am I the only one whose worried about how The Bible is taken utterly serious by some people as in word for word when it was re-written about a hundred times?
Women were down-played , Jesus' life story re-written, Genesis totally recreated, a multitude of gospels left out and a euro-centric, Roman empirical based ideals thrown in...
worrying isn't it? Esp. how Roman Catholics have a man considered to be of high power from God Himself as their head, hmmmmm a european man appointed leader of a middle eastern religion.... |

| | Peter Tosh - Glasshouse | ] | I and I are still striving to fight here! I see such dirty looks, prejudice, jealousy on the streets that it seems to be considered normal to hate your neighbour. Some people my never be forgiven, some may never understand the youth, some will try and suceed in ruining brotherhoods and sisterhoods where long term friendships come to abrupt ends. They cause grief and sorrow yet do not realise it..this is the way of babylon and I am exiled from the homeland, unable to return due to the euro-centricism that has destroyed all sense of love.
Love is shackled to my own home Justice is shackled to my own home Freedome is shackled to my own home To walk on the streets is to walk alone
I let go of past stubborness, I release all hate, and start over, a new beginning in my new life. Never take me for granted as a lion's rage is as furious as his courage, to mount Zion we walk!
.Stoner rant.
"I DO NOT WANT PEACE! I WANT JUSTICE AND RESPECT!! PEACE IS THE DIPLOMA YOU RECIEVE IN THE CEMETARY!" - Peter Tosh, a revolutionary, brutality beaten by Jamaican police for his show at One Love One Peace concert in the late 1970s...shortly after he was assassinated, a rastaman killed for trying to defend the same people who killed him. |

| | Promoe - Urban Guerilla Warfare | ] | If one more person moans how if there was a 'white's only' channel on TV it'd be frowned upon when there's asian and black channels.. I'm going to lose it.
a) TV IS EURO-CENTRIC!! Every bloody channel conforms to Western Ideals, even tv series such as Friends, Sex and the City, Everybody Loves Raymond, Fraiser etc etc.. are these not 'white' programmes seeing as they all focus on white American lives. b) Continuing point a. - it isn't as if these programmes are on a single channel but they are spead over hundreds of channels..compared to the 1 black 'culture' channel in the US and the dozen Asian channels c) NOT EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND ENGLISH! hence the majority of asian channels being in naitive tongues for people who can understand the language. I'm sure if these complaining boneheads went out and learn't , lets say, about japanese culture and language they'd gladly sit and watch a Japanese channel no?
Care to differ? ... explain... |

Might aswell show of Zyon's little viv while I'm here

The little terror seems to love it (although he'd rather be out doing daredevil stunts by jumping off my pc desk!)
Here he is sitting in his fav. 'cotching' spot...(yes he does run up my arm, shoulder, climbs my dreads and then just perches on my hat)

I've already decided to get another Beardy soon and then get either a Yellow Ackie Monitor or some Crested Geckos... oh dear |

"My father used to take usin the studio from the time we were small." Stephen recalls, "Music is serious, he used to tell us. Music is like a prayer and you ddon't put anything in a prayer, you say important things, you pray for people who are suffering. That same approach he teach we. If you're not really seriousdon't do it, that's how him say it, blunt and serious like that"
I think I've finally lost the last strands of respect for elitest metallers who are obsessive about keeping it 'true' rather then show humbleness and give in their own facist ideals in respect for other people..... |

My ultra fussy stupidly monged idea of a gf (also known as Suni remaining single and celibate for his entire life)
1. MUST have dreadlocks for spiritual/philosophical reasons, not to look good/kool or any of that kiddy bullshit 2. MUST enjoy the smoking of ganja... sick of all that anti-weed bullshit, yeah there's pricks out there who smoke it because it's a hip thing to do, the rest of us smoke it to help pains/to meditate/philosophise etc... 3. MUST LOVE THRASH/DEATH METAL!! hahaha:D (reggae/dub/ska/jungle is a bonus ;) ) 4. not be clingy but individual and powerful. Joyous and Creative - these are important qualities in the self. 5. Figure - unimportant 6. nice eyes, something I can spend hours staring into without getting bored 7. MUST be easy to get on with other people, don't want someone who'll sit there for a whole night and not talk to my mates...fugg that
well there ya go.....guess celibacy is the way forward. |
